CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

Although archival information indicates that early in the history of First
Baptist Church of Hampton there existed a Christian Education Board, the
current Christian Education Ministry was established under Rev. Jason Guice
and approved in November, 1986.
The mission of the Christian Education Ministry is to teach, lead, and guide
God's children toward spiritual maturity through prayer, acquisition of
knowledge, fellowship and encouragement and to equip them to make use of
their spiritual gifts to serve the church and community in order that God's
Kingdom might be built up.
Recent activities of the Christian Education Ministry (CEM) include:
- a one-day retreat for church school teachers
- two one-day training workshops for CEM members
- an October to May tutorial program for elementary to high school students
- teachers' workshop (church school and Vacation Bible School)
- one-day marriage seminar
- Baptist General Convention's workshops and seminars
- Representation at ABCOTS
Upcoming Events:

- Informational sessions on violence and gang activity
